This is George.
He is the Alpha male of my little band of furry trouble makers. Lets see....he is about 9 I believe and he does sorta act like an old, grumpy, man once in awhile. He is my GIANT. He is 1/2 Bengal and Tabby. He is large to say the least. His tail is as long as his body and I think we measured him out once at 22." Holy Mackral! George has several major story lines in his life span, but the one that really sticks out is when we traveled to Wisconsin...can we say cheese pleeeze? Our neighbor came over to care for him during the week. Poor baby, not use to being by himself, and we had an ant infestation, so our neighbor trying to keep the ants out of George's kibble laid a layer of comet around his dish. Don't know what she was thinking, but George really hasn't been the same since. I think a little chemical brain rearrangement occurred. He is quite the chicken liver now and before he would go up to complete strangers for affection and now he runs and hides. Tho, I really don't blame the poor, big, baby.
This here giant male is Grrr. Yes, Grr. Don't ask. We all have different takes on why we named our Grrr, Grrr. He is our very lethargic cat. He loves to sleep and eat, of course. He is our docile cat in the house. He loves to sleep on nice, soft, leopard, printed, furry pillows...hey what can I say? Don't go talking trash about my Grr-bee. He also loves flowers. If I have flowers on the table, he is right there trying to naw on the leaves, chew the petals, etc. His one saving grace for himself, is that he actually does not mind water. He jumps in the bathtub, after someone just takes a shower and sits (see prior blog posting, down a-ways) and meows. Also, if you spray him with water or try to give him a washing down, water will roll right off his fur. I consider him my duck cat. This here is our devil girl.
She is very much the opposite of her sister. She loves hats as you can tell and ( if you believe that I have some great swamp land for ya ) wears them when my daughter and her are watching Futbol (Soccer) on ESPN. I think Boots is the only one that can distinguish what the commentators are saying since it is all foreign with no sub-titles, like HELLOO! Boots is very much a cat. Aloof, finicky, and likes to scratch the furniture even tho she has an elaborate scratching post. She can be sweet when she wants attention, but only if you are busy doing something else. You may ask why I just don't let my cats sleep with me. Well, ya see, I'm a very light sleeper to say the least, and 4 cats walking on top of you, meowing, jumping on dressers and bathroom counters (yeah we have a pass-thru bathroom, never again), the answer is NOOOOO!! So, I deal with getting up giving her a little love whilst I wisk her away to the dungeon as we call it.
The best thing I ever did was go to our local Animal Shelter and adopt George and so on so forth. I would have more cats if I could. Maybe someday I could be the crazy, cat, lady.
Ummmm, tho according to my husband I'm already there.

Your kitties are so cute! Love them! I'm with you - I'd be the crazy dog lady if I had enough room....
ReplyDeleteBut I have to agree - Comet? What the hell? Who would even THINK that was a normal thing to do?? I shake my head...
I know, I still feel guilt over leaving poor George, and it's been 7+yrs.
