Anyhoo, I've been in Chicago in case you had no clue. As you know I've been all ready to see this city, eat all the local delicacies and just soak up the atmosphere. First time visiting this city, so I have to do it justice and all.

Mitch was out with me til Tues of last week. We drove into the city to do the touristy thing together for a day. I also might add that we paid rather handsomely for parking, I think there should of been some sort of compensation other than being able to park our vehicle for the price we paid. Just saying........
Smack dab practically right across from the Wrigley Building (which is awesome in it's own right) was this somewhat tacky, and ginormous Marilyn Monroe statue. It was a replica of her Seven Year Itch still photo. It was amusing to say the least, and interesting to see how many peeps were all about getting their pic shot between Marilyn's legs...yeah, like I said interesting.
Anyhow, we walked on to Millenium Park enjoyed some amazing sculptures and art, like the big smooth aluminum bubble or actually it looked like a silver jelly belly if you ask me. It was cool I must admit. We walked way down south, hit up some of the fashion schools along the way, then detoured, had to stop in at Whole Foods doncha know? During the Whole Foods quest journey we crossed the river, don't even ask me which one...don't know, don't care, but it was cool. I figure all in all that day we p'bly easily walked about 7+ miles. Lucky for me or maybe not depending on your thinking, I was in taper mode for the marathon, so I just nixed my run and called it even.
As for eating, well let's just say I ate enuf to p'bly feed a small village in the last 8 days. Can we say, "here piggy, piggy?" Can we then yell "soo-ee!!" Very good indeed.
More on the food xtravaganza in my next issue.
If it makes you feel any better, it's actually "bated breath". :-) "Bated here is a contraction of abated through loss of the unstressed first vowel (a process called aphesis); it means “reduced, lessened, lowered in force”. So bated breath refers to a state in which you almost stop breathing as a result of some strong emotion, such as terror or awe."
