weekly recap

K, sooooo it's been a somewhat long week.  Joint Commission in the house at work, and of course we will have them visit again.......but other than that, this week has been a very good week.  I believe I live in paradise.  The last few weeks here in So. Ca have been absolutely gorgeous.

I can't even begin to complain.  Yeah, I pay the price of the "sunshine" tax and take in less wages than other R.N.s  elsewhere (which sorta sucks if I think about it too much), but all in all I'm really glad that I live here.  Today the weather has shifted to rain, but the sun peaks thru every now and again and makes the grass look like crystal shards.  I ran in the rain this morn.  1st time I got to wear my Patagonia rain slicker.  Very nice indeed.  Right now I have the house to myself, with exception of my sleeping furry beasts, so now you know why the mood.  There's something very soothing about being the only one at home at times.

As for other little nit picky items, well JCAHO did come to visit this week.
Tho, they seem to have changed their strategy and are more friendlier than I remember from the past.  That's good in a way, kinda snuffs a little bit of the intimidation factor out, but not all of it.  I was sorta put on the hot seat about stroke patients (our hospital is trying to get certified for stroke care/rehab, etc.) I held my own, and my wonderful team of coworkers didn't shy away and let me hang there, even tho I wasn't flinching yet under the noose, but they were there for me and I so appreciate and love them for it.  This is why I stay where I am at.  I couldn't ask for a better team of peeps to work with, really I couldn't.  Eventually I might move on, but not right now, and if and when.....??

For running, well, I'm still running, yes I am.  My ITB (aka illiotibial band and lower back tightness) have been rearing it's ugly, ugly head the last couple of weeks.  It's starting to effect my R knee as it is.  I started going back to my massage therapist, and will religiously.  This year my racing goals are way to important to get sidelined by a frickin injury
at the beginning of the year no less.  I'm doing resistance stretching (thanks to my husband making it a needed point and helping).  All I can do at this point is say some prayers and hope that this impending injury doesn't hound me for my season.

Ya know...like I said, all in all a pretty frickingly good week.
