my race

Well, actually it isn't my race per se.  It's more like Chicago's race, but I digress....it is my RACE this year.

As you my 2 peeps know, I have been excited about this race ever since I decided it would be on my "to do" list this year.  S'posedly it is one of the few races that is a Qualifier for NYC and besides that, it is Chicago!  A city I have never been to, cept for a short layover at O'Hare.  I have my very good friend Ms. Tasha and her notorious canines that will be putting me up for my short trip and showing me the sites inbetween my taper, resting, eating, et al., before marathon day, oh and of course there is always the partying after said marathon.

I watched a video that I posted to FB.  I'm a friend of "the Chicago Marathon site," so I get updates and such.  Anyhow, there is a butt load of peeps doing this race.  I think they cap off the race at 45,000.

Yes, that is the correct number with requisite zeros and all.  I think SD Rock & Roll is a zoo at 25,000.  That will seem like child's play when trying to squeeze thru and get by runners at Chicago.  Maybe I will have to take my taser, eh?  Not such a bad idea if I can get it thru airport security that is.

Seeing that the cap is at 45,000 I'm not too worried about getting in.  Tho, there could be a snag, but I'm not feeling any of that right now.  Now if I do BQ (Boston Qualify) again and if I do NYC- Qualify, then those races will be somewhat of a headache to get into even with qualifying times.  That is not this year, so no worrying about that at this point in time.

All I can say is that "I'm Going to and racing in CHICAGO!!!!"
