K, onward HO! Doing a split today, only cuz I felt like grumpy gus yesterday (lack of sleep, sick, work, blech!), so got in my 1st run with my new kicks. I told my Feeps that Nike should sponsor me....yes they should. I run only in their shoes
and most of my running wardrobe is Nike. Like...HELLO Nike! Are you listening to the words that are coming out of my mouth? HELLO! How sweet of a deal that would be just in apparel alone. I could guesstimate that I would save a good chunk of green/yr if I was sponsored by them. Tho, I need to step up my game, right coach? Nothing like a demanding athlete, eh? Wanting fricking miracles and all at the of age 47. Well, why the hell not is what I say!! Muah!----per Tasha girl.
Oh, and before I get into the healthcare reform/bill.....I finally bit the bullet and signed up for my 1st 50K trail run. Oh my! It should be scenic at the very least.
Tho, since it is based at Big Bear I will have to get some altitude training in there prior to the event. Anyone game? UG has promised to give me some pointers and advice prn (as needed), believe you me, I plan on taking her up on this BIG time.

I think it is something positive and there are some good points to the entire thing, but alot of it needs to be continually worked on. They can't just throw it out there and hope for the best. Being one that is on the front lines and also understanding from a layman's point of view of having to deal with HMOs, etc ad nauseam....well lets just say Obama and crew have a little bit more work to do on this thing over the next 4 or so yrs. It will be a battle that is for sure my friends.
According to some of my "older" work crew, they figured the world would just implode once this bill went thru. As we can all see, that didn't materialize. Tho, I'm sure in their narrow minds it did and then some. One nurse I work with on occassion, he feels that this whole healthcare bill is a smoke screen. The government is really after control, period! Sorta of a commi-socialized event occurrence in his mind. Maybe even shall we say on the brink of dictatorship? I kinda laughed at that. The feds already have us numbered, they can trace us on the internet with hardly any effort if they so wish, they follow our spending habits, our call records, etc. I mean c'mon already Big Bro has been out there for a very long time my friend.
I almost bit onto his bait about the healthcare bill and his paranoid crap he was spouting. I'm like dude did you ever watch Sicko? Have you seen what socialized healthcare (not that it is all that great, but who can really say our healthcare has been all that and a bag of potato chips in the last 20+yrs?) can offer or what communist healthcare aka Cuba offers to not only their own citizens, but foreigners aka Americans that travel down there for what are considered highly expensive tests here, but aren't considered the same down there. They also had decent pricing on drugs and adequate MD screenings to boot. Ok, I'm sorta on a tangent here...so my apologies. Anyhow, you get the gist of this. America does provide great healthcare most of the time. We have good scientists, etc.
I just worry that the bottom line will be the almighty dollar
that will eventually nip all of us in the ass. Whether we work in healthcare directly, indirectly or are effected by it as patients. I can only hope that I'm wrong, but as the old adage goes...business is business and that is what healthcare is period.
"...business is business and that is what healthcare is period" - yeah, and maybe that's a big part of the problem. Insurance companies wanting their profits isn't compatible with health care. Ech, don't get me started. Yes, we have great doctors and medical care here - IF you can afford it. I can understand differing levels of service to a point - but we're at extremes now, I'd say. All or nothing.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - I ramble. Nice post, my dear...
ty my dear. Hey, I work for a business plain and simple and it just gets under my skin sometimes. They push the whole CS moto, etc. I get it already, but I'm a frickin nurse, let me nurse! Let me do what I am really good at. If I irk a family because they are in the way, then get over yourself already. Let me do my job and don't mess with my paycheck either! :-)
ReplyDeleteMY! I could use your old Nike shoes, for walking.
