a little thing called forums

Truly and really I was going to post about something else, maybe something more superficial, funny, "shallow"...oh, I guess if my grammar is correct by Slowtwitch forum standards

that would be the same as superficial.

I am more than irked right now, I'm almost downright pissed at responses that I read tonite in an internet forum that I have frequented, not always posted to mind you, but have been a fan on/off since at least 2000 when I started doing Tris.  What am I pissed about you might ask?  Well this post and the responses to said post

I think I read one post before this one, and ended with this above linked post, like WTF?   Maybe I am taking this too seriously, but the orig. poster I'm sure was scared beyond belief and lucky that he/she was alive to tell the tale.  All peeps could do was bash said poster about the use of his/her grammar.  Like HELLOOOOO!  Anyone at home in that noggin of yours or are your fingers flying over the keys and brain is in checkmate for the day?

If you read the post, this person who was out running was almost clipped/hit by not 1 but 2 vehicles on a pretty desolate country road.  What's the big deal you think?

Well....examples, examples...... while out riding not only once but a couple of times I've been almost clipped by some behemouth RVs that had plenty of room on the otherside to go around.  I've been run off the roads up in wine country by cars when biking, thus the reason I don't bike so much anymore.  As for running, I had 1 to 2 yahoos over a period of time come at me whilst I was running towards traffic in the bike lane.  It ended up being a game of chicken more or less.  No I did not hop up on the curb, tho common sense would dictate that, but hey, I was really peeved and in a "you really aren't doing this dude" mind frame while running and a car coming at me at say, about 40-50mph.  I know, stupid me, but how am I to blame when these frickin assholes think they are having some fun with someone out getting some exercise for god's sake?  Really?  You are navigating a 2ton vehicle or more and coming at me at a good clip.  Even if you were coming at me at 10mph as per physics dictates you would do some major bodily damage to me if not death.

What I am saying here is, what gives peeps the right to trash someone on the internet, not knowing who they really are, what happened that particular day, etc?  Nada, is what I say.  How bout a little compassion instead of trashing said OP for their mis-grammar or mis-punctuation or some shit like that?

Bottom line is we are all human and believe it or not we all bleed the same way.

Hopefully, we don't get plowed over by some stupid asswipe on the road and are left for dead, but will you have compassion then or will you trash whomever posts their demise on the internet/forum?

I really have no tolerance for peeps on forums or even in person who insert their entire ass in their mouth when commenting on a near death experience in a jovial or well lets say childish demeanor.  I know more 4yos that are alot more mature than said peeps.

I dunno if I will even frequent this site again.  It has given me a bad taste in my mouth and a very bad vibe.  I have met some decent peeps on this site, my coach and a very good friend for one.  Tho, at this time, I might say c-ya later gator.  If the big cheese of the site actually comments without compassion, why am I even reading or hitting the website anymore?
