Grrr has it right....

it's definitely a Friday.  Hey, a day off Friday is always a good Friday.  No matter what type of shit may occur.  The day has mostly consisted of errands, some needed ie;  hair appt. and Costco, some errands not soo needed, but whatever as I say alot.

Just got through chatting with my mom.  Found out that she needs to use O2 24hrs now.  I guess her oxygen saturation rate isn't all that good according to her doc.  Whom, of course, I have to trust since I'm out here in Ca. and she (my mom) is in Co.  I requested of her...well I pretty much told her to get a portable O2 monitor, but I know that they can be pricey and I'm pretty sure she won't get one.  Her lungs are toasty little critters.  She had pretty bad whooping cough as a youngster, plus she smoked for a good chunk of her adult life....and now, well it is coming back to haunt her, and me more or less.  She has "the gak" of a cold right now, and of course, it is probably one of the worst viral colds this season.  I've had it, my immediate family has had it, peeps at work, etc.  Tho, with someone with lung problems or a tendency towards pneumonia it's not a good thing.  Plus, when she moved I kept telling her to move closer to a city...ya know, hospitals, grocery stores...other necessities.  What does she do?

She moves out to the frickin sticks once again, ugh!  Hey, I'm tryin not to worry here, but....geeez Andy!!

On another note, my mother-in-law (who is great by the way) and not at all like the stereotypical mom-in-law.  Has had a prob with high BP lately.  Tho, she continues to smoke.

I know it is hard habit to break.  God, I really know about hard habits to break, but when your life more or less may be in the balance isn't it time to give up said habit?  I sorta mentioned it offhand a couple of times, and left it at that.  What really can I do?  She is a grown woman...we all are more or less.

It's really kind of surreal in a way or very realistic it is.  Our bad habits end up being pretty damn detrimental to peeps, period!  I'm sure my somewhat questionable habits will come into play one of these days, as will others.  Whether it is stress, drinking, smoking, rec drug use or ???  Even us athletes get the 3 bill once in awhile.   I mean, I've read and I have even encountered more athletes with AICDs (pacemakers)

than I would want to.  Does that mean I will stop (my running habit)...p'bly not.  I'm just as addicted to my sport as any other recreational habit....what some may consider good and what some may consider bad.

Might as well seize the day (carpe diem!) as Robin Williams states so eloquently in the movie Dead Poet's Society.

I mean, what else is there to really do but live, love and laugh...ALOT and as much as we can with whatever time we do have.

  2. Calvin and Hobbes has been my fave since it came out. I was very depressed after the dude decided not to do the strip anymore.
