Some individual or said person(s) wrote in about Santa being a bad role model. Ok, for one I love Santa, but two, I know that Santa is not a real person per se, or so I have come to believe since I was about, saaay 10! I guess this individual feels that Santa is too jolly or aka too fat for his own good. I mean for god's sake, he eats cookies, candy canes, eggnog (tho I hope for his sake some of it is spiked) and lord knows what else little children around the world leave out for him. Like no wonder the dude has to consider Jenny Craig after the holidays. So, said individual is stating that due to his increased girth he is a bad influence on our children. Not like as parents ourselves are giving into our kids demands of ding-dongs, Mickey D's, donuts, etc. I myself like to partake in this so called crap food on occasion also. So now I can blame it on Santa? How cool is that?
Also, poor Santa does not wear a helmet. So, I tell you what type of an example does that leave us? I mean, I haven't seen any Xtreme sport athletes wear helmets in all of the Xtreme sports. Hmmm, is sleigh riding now considered dangerous? Mind you, flying from roof to roof and shimmying down chimneys (whilst putting on poundage as you go) is safe, right?
It made me irritated, then it sorta makes me smile that peeps are so ready to blame someone and especially someone that isn't really a someone. I do like Santa...I DO, I DO!! Fat gut, jolly laugh, stinky reindeer and all. Those peeps out there throwing their stones are Scrooges, sure as I'm sitting here.
Oh my god. And it wasn't high parody? I mean really, SANTA as a bad role model????? Like kids are going to go and start saying "I wanna be just like Santa and wear a red suit and work with elves my whole life!" Umm, sure. Yet again, I just shake my head....
