2010's 4-5 stars!!

Oh, like I've know the 2 of you have been waiting for this post with baited breath (sounds rather disgusting, doesn't it?) and what I will pick for the years bestest and some of the not sooo goodies.

Without further ado....here we be.

10)  My newly purchased Hoka trail shoes (many thanks to Dirt Diva for turning me on to these kicks).  Kinda goofy looking, but they are heaven on the trails.  Not so great on the roads on my way to the trails around me.  They are comparable I would say to mt. bike fat tires.  The ride is definitely sub-par on the road, but when you get the tires and/or shoes on the dirt watch out!

9)  My new found love for compression socks and/or knee highs.  I know, nerd or dork alert as it is.  I have decided that these are da bomb for my runs "after" my work days.  Whether I run that nite or the next off day.  They help keep me running strong without the cramping or the dead leg feeling from being on my feets at work for 12+hr shifts.

8)  Belega socks.   They don't pill (aka- those nasty, knobby things on sweaters, socks, etc.) after washing several times, they don't get stiff-like (hey! hey!  don't go there), for the most part they stay nice, soft and comfy from the get go.  They are def my 98% wear all the time sock.  Tho, they do have one drawback, if it's cold out, they def don't shunt the cold like Smart Wool socks do.

7)  My CW-X running tights.  I've had these tights for about 2+yrs now.  Love, love em!!  I wish I would've bought more from ZombieRunner back in the day.  I have one full length and the other capri length.  They are awesome.  No if's and or buts, or should that be butts?

6)  Kahoots pet stores.  Love their stuff.  Love their passion for pets everytime I walk in the door.  All the food in their store (for the most part) is natural.  No cornmeal added.  If I'm spending good money on my felines, then I shouldn't be buying food with cheap ass cornmeal in it as one of the main ingredients.

5)  Georgio Armani Silk Foundation.  Yeah, well I'm a chick so bear with me here.  Absolutely the best foundation I have found.  Goes on nice, silky, doesn't cake or do strange Frankenstein things to your face after a few hours.  Worth the xtra pennies and the trip to Neimans or Saks if needed.

4)  Kat Von D eyeshadow.
It's a little tricky to work with at 1st, but this stuff is great and will last thru dancing til dawn or just a tuf day at the saltmines.

3)  Tiger Balm, which I have used for muscle aches/pains.  Tho now I have a new use for it, thanks to my buddy Joanne.  I lightly pat it under my nose before I head into a pt's room.  Ya know the type of pt's I'm referring to.  GI bleeds, wounds, BO issues, etc.  Gotta r'mber to store mine in my work backpak before my next shift---DOH!!

2)  My friends and family.  Yeah, really!  You guys give me support and show me the light when I'm struggling.  You are da bomb my peeps.  Love you totally!
1)  Myself (for those of you who have forgotten what I look like- I'm on the far right).  Yeah, sounds sorta trite and weird, but without my own faith in what I can accomplish, then I wouldn't have much of a life.  I definitely wouldn't be where I am today or who I am today.  I just need to r'mber this bit of internal Hoooo-Raaaah!  And tap into it more in 2011.

FLOPS of 2010

Actually not too many, which is p'bly a good thing.

5)  Thorlo running socks (the new thinner ones).  Still not sold on Thorlo.  I know some peeps love em.  M wears them when playing basketball.  They have new anklet socks for us runners.  Ok, but they slip and bunch.  Not a good thing when you are out for a 2hr run.  They have been shoved into the "work" pile of socks.

4)  Crappy wine.  I mean who has the time for craptacular wine?  Nuf said.

3)  My spiral curling iron.  Too much of a pain in the ass to use and after a pain staking hour or so, doesn't accomplish Taylor Swift ringlets.  Use a regular barreled curling iron.  Will get the job you need done faster= efficiency.

2)  Gel refill writing pens (I covet them for work or use to) that require from said local "office supply" store that the only way to purchase refills is online.  Are they like on crack or what?  Pen(s) thrown away.  What a ridiculous bit of nonsense.  If you carry the pens in store then carry the frickin refills already!

1)  This is a biggie of mine this year.  Negative peeps.  Whether docs, nurses, administrators, retailers, etc.  Ok, so I get that you've had a crappy day or maybe your day is just beginning and you are a fucking negative nelly!!  Please don't saddle me with your negativity.  Unfortunately (true) it is easier to be negative than positive, so I don't need your vibe.  Thank you very much.

There it is my peeps.  Glean info as you can or not.  Love all of you.  Happy New Year to ya!!

  1. Ooh, I discovered Balega socks for running a couple of years ago - but the ones i liked were the super thin ones, and was totally bummed when i ordered some online and they were these thick things. Bah. Now on a quest for the right ones....

  2. Actually I get mine at The Running Center. Only place that has them around here. I had their thin ones for my racing flats, but I like the norm ones...cushy.
