Motivation is extremely lacking with me as far as my running goes lately. Hey, I get this way from time to time. It's just one of those times of year I guess.
On another note, we've had the bestest weather lately. Our 90-110 degree stretch, morphed into monsoon weather with high humidity...blech, then we got some real winter-like cloud cover with rain, cool rain and weather. Oh yeah!! Love this stuff over the humidity and the dregs of being able to fry an egg on the sidewalk HOT stuff. I'm gonna enjoy it whilst we have it that is for sure. They say (yeah, like are they ever right?), we are going to jump back into the 80's by this weekend. Nuthin like So Ca schizophrenic weather lately.
Well, the Bull (our newest charge nurse supervisor) came to days about a week ago. Yep, he has arrived. So far things are going. He is being very good at not running into the china (us day nurses). I refer to this dude as a "Bull in a china shop." He is trying to make changes. Some changes are good and some are just anal changes, and we will see how far he gets to push his way thru things.
Our new mgr is still learning the ropes, and I think he put himself in deep doo....well lets just say I think he is more administration than nursing now. Which really depresses me. Being a nurse mgr you have to walk a fine line, but when push comes to shove you have to back up your nurses. I really don't see him doing that in the long run. Sooooo, my fellow 2 readers I will bide my time and take it shift by shift. I'm still checking job boards, etc., but the real question is do I want to drive > 1+ to get to work? Right now my drive takes me about 45-50min to get down to work. I also have to consider if I leave the system then I have to start all over with my seniority, PTO, etc. As you know, I'm a thinker...sometimes too much. So I guess I should take my own advice I gave a friend a couple of days ago. Don't think beyond too much and take it shift by shift.
Time to stop thinkin...and lay like a veggi on the couch for a bit. Yeah, that sounds like the best plan of action for the rest of the day.
