K, I love, I mean, I adore Calvin and Hobbes.
I like Bill Waterson's simplicity with his characters, I mean what could be more simple that a little boy with his stuffed tiger, really?
I didn't grow up as a boy (being able to relate to this comic), but I had bros, and I raised 2 sons, well one is still lurking, but he is almost done more or less. My hub's doesn't care for C&H, but whatever, to each his own. I have to tell ya I was a little depressed when Bill W. pulled the plug on my beloved Calvin and Hobbes.
Comics for me since aren't really comics. I mean, Charles Shultz passed, after Bill W. left the seen, and there is really nada worth anything in comic land anymore. Least IMO.
Really? Who can resist a comic layout like this, and not identify with it in some way or another?
Bill Watterson, thank you for my endless pleasure in your
cartoon, even now when you aren't sketching C&H anymore, I still enjoy it. I do miss Calvin and his antics. I miss the simplicity and the innocence of it. Most of all I miss the boy and his stuffed tiger that I came to enjoy and even love in my daily newspaper comics and the Sunday comics.
I love C&H comics! Your beautiful pic of the beach & ocean --Wow!
ReplyDeleteWas that really the final C&H comic? So sad. :-(
